Strawberry Fair

Nicola Travers, Courtown Road, Gorey was crowned Strawberry Queen, 2007 on Sunday 1st. July.  Nicola was sponsored by CJ O'Loughlin Ltd. and will go forward to the Wexford Rose competition later in the year.  Congratulations Nicola and good luck for the furture.

The Ruby Anniversary of Strawberry Festival was very successful and credit is due to the hark working committee who made it happen in the space of five to six weeks. 

The Festival was in fear of dying and Enniscorthy Town Council came on board to honour 40 years of the Fair.  The TC always supported the Festival but this year they exceed their financial support and spent a lot of time ensuring that all organised events took place.

The Ruby Ball sponsored by the Riverside Park Hoted was a huge success and the main fundraiser for the Festival.  Thanks to all who supported the Ball and a great night was had by all.  The contributions from local businesses went towards the running of the fringe events and their support is very much appreciated. 

A public meeting will be held shortly to put a plan of action for the future of the Strawberry Festival into action.
